September 2015 Super Blood Moon Eclipse

September 27/28th Lunar Eclipse

I don’t profess to be an expert in Astrology , but I find the subject fascinating. I have been doing some research , tonight’s full moon is very special and powerful.

Firstly this is a super moon , the moons orbit passes the earth at its closest for 2015 tonight so the moon will appear very large in the sky.

 It is also a Harvest moon this term is given to the closest full moon to the autumn equinox which fell on 23rd September. 

Also this is a Blood Moon, because of the total lunar eclipse

which also falls tonight the moon will fall into the shadow of the earth and appear to be blood red. 

This is the 4^th in a series of total lunar eclipses which have occurred 6 months apart over the past couple of years. There are various writings and prophesies associated with this series of eclipses which I won’t go into too much here but suffice to say this moon is rare, and powerful. You will be able to see this rare event from approx. 1.10 am tonight clouds permitting it should be a pretty amazing sight.

In terms of astrology this full moon is in Aries so expect some fire and passion, with the energy being so strong tonight you will most probably feel it! Aries is all about the ‘self’ and new beginings, Aries is brave and bold, I always think of the line from Star Trek ‘To boldly go where no man has been before’ this is Aries all over! This moon will bring an opportunity for you to clear out the old and be ready to take on the world Aries gives you the energy and courage to do this. Be aware of the tetchiness though Aries is firey and can be short tempered and impatient, you may find you have less patience than normal at the moment particularly if you are an Aries yourself.

Tonight is a great time to send out some wishes, abundance and plenty are all represented in the harvest moon, what better time to send out to the universe what you truly desire. It’s also a great time to quietly thank the universe for what it has already provided, see the universe as your friend you wouldn’t not thank a friend for a gift would you? And if you didn’t thank your friend for your gift they would not be likely to give you anymore, the universe is the same so express gratitude, appreciate what you have already and you will attract more blessings to you.

In honour of this rare event I have pulled out some tarot cards to give us a little guidance , I am using my Vampyres of the eternal night tarot deck as it is a blood moon after all !

Unsurprisingly the spread of cards I have pulled is also a little rare, having drawn the 3, 2 and ace of swords. 

The three falls in the past part of the spread and reminds us that this full moon is a time to release and leave behind those past heart breaks and pain, leave it where it belongs in the past, I am reminded of Wayne Dyer’s thoughts on this, he said our past is just the wake we leave behind, the wake cannot drive the boat into the future. 

The second card that falls into the present part of the spread is the 2 of swords , the present is the most important part of the spread as it represents the here and now, the actions and thoughts that we have in the present are what creates our future, this card asks for action, decisions need to be made , where do you want to go, what are your goals it’s time to decide.

The third card is placed in the future part of the spread and is the ace of swords this card represents new ideas and ways of thinking, new starts and clear actions, to me it is also the sword of truth, of honesty (very Arian even though it is not a traditional fire sign card).

Interestingly these cards are all swords and representative of air signs or air energy , Aries’s opposite sign being Libra these thought based cards bring opposing balance to the sometimes overpowering fire that goes with Aries!

As I final card for guidance I have drawn the Star – so appropriate, the card of hope and direction the perfect card for manifesting your wishes a beautiful hopeful card to draw for such a powerful event!

These cards overall are all about truth and hope, leaving behind that which no longer serves you, moving forward, making decisions, speaking your truth and following your hopes and dreams, manifesting and making things happen. This moon gives you courage and energy use it wisely!

Making the Law of Attraction work for you !

Vision Boards and the Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction is something we hear more and more about these days, but how can we make it work for us? There are lots and lots of books and blogs on this subject but I wanted to give you a practical idea of how you can really start to work with the idea.

A vision board is basically whatever you want it to be, there are no rules, in fact the more individual it is , the better it will work for you as the energy you put into it will have come straight from you heart and not someone else’s.

If you are really artistic you may want to draw, paint or model your vision board . 

If however you are like me and your artistic abilities end at matchstick men you may want to try the cut and paste style. Simply spend a few quiet hours thinking about what it is you would like to manifest. A perfect partner, a holiday, abundance, a house move, happiness, love, a new job . Make yourself a list and then go hunting for images that you like, that reflect what you would like to attract. What better excuse to spend a morning with your feet up flicking through magazines!

 If its words that to it for you have a look through some affirmations and quotes that appeal to you and add those too, even better write your own but remember to keep them positive and in the moment….  for example ‘I want to lose weight’ will not work (you need to use phrases that help you act as if you have achieved your goal already)  you want a statement like ‘I am at my perfect healthy weight’ to reinforce positive energy around you.

When you have selected some images and phrases that you really like arrange them on a sheet of A3 paper, and stick them down just like those collages we had great fun making at school.

When you are done place them around your house where you will see them often, I have mine on my bedroom wall so my dreams are the first and last thing I see each day. I also have a smaller A4 board on the kitchen wall so every time I make a cup of tea I see pictures of sandy beaches.

Making these boards is a great way to get creative and to express what is in your soul, what you dream of and what you want to manifest in your life. I also feel it is a great way of spending some time just focusing on ourselves and showing some self- love (something I feel is often not given much priority in our busy lives but very important , especially if you are trying to attract love to you ).

  The law of attraction works on the principal that we attract like energies to the ones we think about and feel, so if you focus on the lack in your life you just attract more lack. Use your vision board to focus your attention on what you intend to manifest and as you look at it feel the feelings of sitting in that new car, sitting on that beach, getting the keys to that new house, smile and enjoy the moment , do this often.  Let yourself go back to being that daydreaming child and allow yourself to indulge yourself in your dreams for a few minutes.
