Full Moon Lunar eclipse in Libra 22nd/23rd March - The Worm Moon

This week we have a full moon lunar eclipse in Libra. This moon is called the Worm moon, it gets it’s name from the worm casts that begin to appear at this time of year , the North American Indians saw this as sign nature awakening in the spring time, hence the first full moon after the spring equinox is given the name The Worm Moon.

Eclipses are a great time for cleansing and letting go of old energies that are no longer serving you and this energy fits in really well with the transition from winter into spring. Time to look forward into the rest of the year, welcome in the warmer longer days and to let go of the winter energy.

This full moon is in Libra and Libra likes balance, it is a good time to think about balance in your life, things like your work life balance may be bought to the fore during this next month. Also the balance in energy that you give to other versus the energy you give to yourself. 

In nature the spring time brings

nurturing energy to the fore, people nurturing their gardens and animal nurturing the young. Why not follow natures lead and nurture yourself over the next few days.

The energy of this full moon is powerful and gives an opportunity to be kind for yourself,  and to bring more balance to the energy you give to your own happiness if you need to.

It is also a good time to express gratitude, living in an energy of being grateful for what you have rather than focusing on what you think you lack allows the universe to give you more things for you to be grateful for. Think of it this way, how likely would you to be to give a gift to someone who did not thank you for the last gift you gave? The universe is your friend, be thankful and it will continue to give. Often when we have troubles we forget what a privileged existence we have, for example , how many of you reading this post even think about going to your tap and pouring a glass of water, millions do not have that privilege yet many of us think nothing of it, a small thank you for those things around us we take for granted raises your vibration and attracts more good to you.

I have drawn a card for the full moon energy from the beautiful Thelema Deck which is one of my favourites, the card I have is the Hierophant, this card talks about structure and form together with spirituality, so in it’s own way it also speaks of balance , the ability to be part of a material structured world but also to be aware of your higher self and the more spiritual side of you. The Hierophant can be seen as a religious card and it is interesting that it has appeared in connection with this full moon phase which leads us into and important time for those of the Christian faith. For those of us in the UK even if not Christian or particularly religious the long weekend does offer up an

opportunity for some work life balance adjustment as well as a chance to hopefully enjoy getting out into nature and enjoying the spring.
